Her work implicates personal and social histories in an attempt to instigate a public performance of desire. Informed by social activism and built within the vernacular of visual language, her work creates frameworks for rethinking power relationships. Curreri was in the 2011 Incheon Women's Biennale in Korea, a recipient of a Joan Mitchell Foundation Fellowship in 2009 and a SF Guardian Goldie Award in 2010. She is the co-editor of an artist publication, Color&Color, which aims to tactically connect artists with new audiences and expanded dialogue through the serial print medium of small books. Curreri holds an MFA from the California College of the Arts, a BFA from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and a BA from Tufts University in Sociology and Peace & Justice Studies. Curreri is represented by Romer Young Gallery in San Francisco, California. |
