VISITING ARTIST: ALICE CATTANEO / MILAN, ITALY
RESIDENCY DATES: 8/5 -8/30, 2013
EXHIBITION OPENING: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2013
The Artist in Residence program offers emerging and mid-career artists from outside the Bay Area the opportunity to create new work in a dynamic and unique environment. Every August, the program will invite a single artist to transform the gallery into a temporary live/work space. Over four weeks, participants will be given full access to housing and studio facilities and will be encouraged to develop a body of site-specific work. The program will culminate in an exhibition of work created during the residency. Scheduled to coincide with the opening of the gallery’s fall season in September, the exhibition will offer participants the opportunity to introduce their work to the Bay Area. During the dates of the residency the gallery will be closed to the public.
